Taking Inventory: The Most Important Skill for Consistent, Injury Free Running!

Fact: Most running injuries are the result of low grade, repetitive stress, not one-time trauma. The earlier you identify small stressors and inefficiencies, the easier it is to take action and the less likely the stress builds to the point of a full-on injury.
 
You can learn to identify these stressors by developing the skill of taking inventory of your body. Practice building and using this skill with local physical therapist and founder of Balanced Movement Studios, Brain Beatty. He will be at our Downtown shop on Tuesday, 2/11 to teach us how to apply the concept of taking inventory through the implementation of warm up, cool down, mobility work, and core work in your training routine.
 
Come prepared to do a short run and practice some strength mobility exercises. Please bring a mat or towel if you have one. We will learn by doing and working on building a toolbox for avoiding injury and running for a lifetime.
