Occoneechee Speedway Relay
Runners, start your engines!
This relay will consist of 20 laps (each lap is just over 1 kilometer) making the total distance roughly 13.5 miles. Just like pit row, teams will line the field as their teammates race around the track awaiting the signal to hand-off, which can happen in any order and after any given number of laps. There is no required distance for each runner, nor is there a specific order of hand-off that has to be followed. It’s quite simple: your team needs to complete a total of 20 laps to finish the relay!
**The first team registrant (or team captain) will pay the total team registration fee in order to secure a spot for their 2 or 4 person team. Each teammate will then register individually to join the team and will not be charged a registration fee. This race does sell out! So don’t snooze!
$80/2-person team & $160/4-person team through November 15th
$90/2-person team & $180/4-person team through December 31st
$100/2-person team & $200/4-person team through January 18th
(no race day registration)
Please stick around for food and beverages after the relay. The post race raffle will be held at the Speedway (top of the grandstand) following awards at 3:30pm. You must be present to win!

Accommodations & Parking
ALL RELAY RUNNERS AND SPECTATORS ARE REQUIRED TO CARPOOL. Parking is very limited and there is NO PARKING available at the Speedway. You will be directed to park at OE Enterprises close to the Speedway entrance. The Speedway is approximately a 5-10 minute walk from these parking areas.
The Occoneechee Speedway is located in Hillsborough, NC. Please carpool with your team! Parking is limited and you will be directed to park on the property of businesses that neighbor the Speedway. GPS Location Directions.
2 & 4 PERSON TEAMS: TOP 3- ALL MALE, ALL FEMALE, CO-ED, & MASTERS CO-ED
*Award divisions are based on year to year registrations dynamics. Each category must have 5 eligible teams in order to be considered an official awarded division. Possible categories include:
- 2 Person Male & Female
- 2 Person & 4 Person Co-ed (4 Person team MUST have at least 2 females to be eligible for co-ed division).
- 2 Person Masters Male & Female
- 4 Person Male & Female
- 4 Person Masters Male & Female (each team member must be over 40)
- 4 Person YOUTH team (each team member must be under 18)
- 2 & 4 Person Masters Co-ed
*EACH participant will receive custom race swag along with delicious food and beverage from local vendors following the race!
