Strength Training for Runners
Strength Training for Runners
Monday, August 12 @ 6:15pm
Bull City Running – Downtown
We’re excited to partner with the Courage Fitness Durham team to provide you with practical and immediately useful information to support your running. Join Courage Fitness Coaches Nik Mula and Dave Castro for an interactive discussion on the following topics:
- Why strength training is consistently recommended for runners (and why you know that, and still struggle to incorporate it)
- Simplified and digestible principles of strength training. No fancy terms, just concepts you can immediately put into practice
- How to know which movements will be most beneficial to you, so you don’t waste time and effort doing things that aren’t actually helpful
- Tendon health and how resistance training is a valuable tool for helping you recover from and manage the “itis” (patellar & achilles tendons specifically)
- Are you tight or is something weak? We’ll walk you through how to know if you need more flexibility or strength (read: stretching that “tight” hamstring might not actually be the answer to your problem)
Our goal is to create an interactive and educational environment that encourages you to ask questions! This workshop will feature examples that you can put into practice immediately.
We know that you’d rather be running, so we want to make sure we give you something that actually supports your ability to keep running in the way that is most fun for you!
There is no cost for this session, but please register here to join us!
